I’ve been known to stop in my tracks to admire stunning architecture. As a kid, visiting my aunt and uncle in Brooklyn, I remember looking up at beautiful formations on the ceiling of buildings we perused on jaunts through the city. The diamond pattern of the ceiling repeated in every direction - its reign harnessed only by elaborate crown molding. It was a texture so alluring I couldn’t seem to draw my eyes away. I’d later learn that style was a hold- over from the Victorian era, when the design aesthetic was a hallmark of its time. It was only fitting that these earrings be named Victoria.
When I stumbled on these textured brass elements, they instantly reminded me of this beautiful architectural feature. Hand painting these pieces always transports me back to the summer visits that nurtured my creativity through the sights and sounds of the city. Duck Egg, a soft sea green hue reminiscent of patinaed brass, is regarded for both its incredible beauty and its versatility. Wear it with virtually anything in your wardrobe.
Each pair, like the stroke of an artist’s brush, is one of a kind, as each hand-painted and waxed piece develops a slightly different finish.
This pair measures approximately 3” in length and feature fishhook ear wires that are lead-and-nickel-compliant.
